About Curiosity Academy Located in the beautiful town of Doylestown, Curiosity Academy is a private preschool and licensed Kindergarten that has been family-owned and operated since 1965. "The environment of Camp Curiosity is one where children are encouraged to discover, explore, invent, and create. Learning takes place through the senses, natural curiosity, and the world around them." ~Camp Curiosity, 1965 Our History and Mission Our History and Mission In the 1960s, Ellen Thomas founded the Curiosity Shoppe, recognizing the need for quality early childhood education. In 1963, the Curiosity Shoppe became licensed as a small preschool in her home on Dogwood Lane. In 1978, inspired by The Toddler Center book, Ellen expanded the programs to create a childcare center for children under the age of 3. By 1980, the Curiosity Shoppe and Toddler Center relocated to our current location on Landisville Road. Learn more about our history.
